Common Zoom Pitfalls and How to Avoid Them

These days, a great deal of business is done over conferencing platforms such as Zoom, and our team is here to help you get the best results from this technology. In this article, we will go over a few of the most common Zoom mistakes and how you can avoid them.

  • Video Not Loading- One issue that people often run into when using Zoom is their video not working. This can happen for a few reasons—for example, it’s possible that your privacy settings do not allow Zoom to access your web cam. In that case, simply go into the settings and allow the app to record video. On the other hand, sometimes a video feed will simply cut out during the conference call, either because the caller’s camera stopped recording or because the receiver’s computer stopped picking up the feed. In the latter case, we recommend that you close any apps you are not actively using to free up some processing power and let the video feed resume.
  • Excess Background Noise- Another common Zoom issue is excessive background noise that makes it hard to understand the people in the call. If your call is disrupted by loud noises from a caller’s environment, have everyone check their background audio settings and reduce the threshold to suppress all sounds but your voices.
